Art Historians on Kathrin’s art:

“Although I knew of The Way of the Cross in reproductions, I had never seen the originals before. I was moved to see them glowing on the walls of the chapel with its warm natural lighting. And “glow” is the operative word, because light seemed to be coming out of these watercolors, not large in size but large in impact.

Since one makes the Stations of the Cross to enter into swirling emotions of Jesus’ death, I found these Stations very helpful in suggesting new entry points into the scenes. They had the power to open them up through touching details, glowing light, and resonant primordial shapes.

She is that unique individual who is both a fine artist and is also wonderfully articulate.”

David Steadman PhD., Art Historian and director emeritus of the Toledo Museum of Art

“Kathrin Burleson has masterfully evoked my Corgi Pip’s noble character and appearance, while commemorating his presence on earth. I owe a great debt of gratitude to Ms. Burleson for her considerable artistic abilities, her keen sensitivities (to both humans and animals), and her generous willingness to engage with me throughout the process of creating the work, thus providing a rare dialogue between artist and patron. I deeply respect Kathrin as an immensely gifted artist.”
